More functions don’t always make a better home gym machine. In this video, I highlight five multi-function home gym machines that prove less is more—equipment designed to perform a few complementary movements exceptionally well instead of trying to replace an entire gym.

We’ll examine each machine’s versatility, exercise quality, space efficiency, construction, and overall value. If you’re researching the best home gym machines, compact strength equipment, or alternatives to traditional all-in-one home gyms, this video is for you.

  1. I don’t understand why GMWD would make and sell a multi-press that does three movements really well and two really bad? Why weren’t they able to design it with better range of motion for flat and decline? They almost had me sold on it!

  2. I think multifunctional equipment (equipment that takes time to set up) is great if you need the space. With that said I personally hate having to set up everything for the exercise I want to perform. I would rather have a piece of equipment that is already set up that I can do 1-3 exercises on. Such as the GMWD that I can easily move from one movement to another. The GMWD also works well with shrugs.

  3. Great topic, great points, and obviously great shoutout! Kidding aside, I think you nailed the most pertinent point throughout the video which is that so much of this depends on your training style and your own personal preferences. Gym is looking “s tier” Chris
